: Troubleshooting a 550 Error

There are two (2) things that could cause a 550 error.

1. Incorrect E-mail Address

Make sure your reply email address is correct. Most servers will reject email if there isn't a legitimate reply email address.

To check this go to Tools > Accounts > View or Change Existing > click on your account to open it, then you will see a small button in the lower right of the pop up that says "More Settings". There, on the General tab, under "Other User Information" type your Reply E-mail address then click OK.

2. Incorrect SMTP Settings

While in "More Settings" check the "Outgoing Server" tab at the top. Make sure the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" is checked and the "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is also checked below it.
